FORTHCOMING CONCERT
Friends of St. Mary's Convent, Hill street, expressed their pleasure when the annual concerts, interrupted for some years, were resumed last November. The concert this year, which is to bo conducted in the Concert Chambers, Town Hall, on Tuesday, November 30th, should appeal, not only to music lovers, but to the general public, because of the object for which it is staged: to provide Christmas gifts for the nursing sisters of the leper island of Makogai. The best of talent lias been secured for tbe function, including Misses A. Gilpin, Agnes McDavitt, Myrtle Pigon, Ailsa Dillon and others. A former student of tho convent, and a popular Wellington soprano, in Mrs A. E. Burge, is lending her sweet voice to the cause of the heroic sisters, while several young students will render some delightful pianoforte quartettes.
