UNUSUAL VISITOR
WHIRLWIND IN WAIKATO DAMAGE TO FARM PROPERTY COWSHED DEMOLISHED Per Press Association, TE AWAMUTU, November ID. A whirlwind or some other unusual visitation occurred to-day. During A heavy rainstorm settlers along the Frontier and Punui roads beard A very loud noise, and before they realised the cause branches of trees were wrenched off and were scattered along a path several chains away. The whirlwind appeared to travel due southward, just missing Burns's cowshed, and crossed Frontier road to Nicholson’s, where n cowshed was completely demolished and part of the milking plant was twisted. Then the pine trees on Whitton’s farm were split and topped, and boards and sheets of corrugated iron in front of a big shed were strewn about.
The path of the storm wns onlv about a chain wide, and it extended for over a mile before being spent in the direction of the Te M&whai railway station*
