Tlio Admiralty is optimistic that after the Imperial Conference the •Singapore base schemo will proceed uninterruptedly. It is confident of the co-operation of Britain, Hong-Kolig, Malnya, Australia, and New Zealand. It is predicted that the total estimated cost of £12,000,009 will be largely expended within two years, including the graving docks and tho floating dock. Tho floating dock, which will be the largest in the world, will probably bo towed out in three sections.
