DEATH OF MR W. HILL TRIBUTE BY "WOOLBROKERS. Per Press Association. NAITER. November 19. Prior to the commencement of tho first wool sale of the season this morning, those present passed a vote of condolence with the widow and family of the late Mr Walter Hill. In moving the vote, Mr N. Kettle, on behalf of tho Hawke’s Bay Woolbrokers’ Association, stated that the brokers and buyers alike had lost a great man. one who understood the trade from A to Z. The deceased had been associated with the trade fob years, and was mainly responsible for the Dominion’s enormous wool industry as it stood today. Mr Kettle referred to the great services to the Government the late Mr Hill had performed during the commandeer period. “Tho British Government itself owes a debt of gratitude to Mr Hill,” he concluded. The vote was carried in silence, and operations ceased for a few minutes to coincide with tho time of the funeral of Mr Hill.
