HINTS VOli NEW DRIVER. More evil is caused by want of thought than what may he called culpable carelessness, but tho want of thought can nevertheless introduce complications which disturb the serenity, of a number of people. For the new driver one or two hints may be given usefully without resorting to a list of “dont’s.” There is one “don’t.” however, which is as unbending as Table Mountain — don’t overtake on a corner or under any conditions in which ft is impossible to see the road ahead. If the novice will take note at one or twb corner* of what he would have mot had he overtaken other traffic on the bend, he will he thoroughly convinced of the soundness of this injunction. Another word about corners. Mho driver should keep to his proper side, or one day he will have cause—if he lives—to regret departure ‘'rum tills rule.
