PASSENGER TRANSPORT
ILLUMINATING FIGURES Last year 45 per cent, of the passengers carried by London’s transportation system patronised ’buses; 28 per cent, used the railroads; and 27 per cent, were handled by the tramways. The totals were as follow:—’Buses, 1,671,000,000; railroads, 1,049,000,000; street railways, 979,000,000.
