FUTURE OF MARKET.
“Personally, I consider that th# prices jiaid at this week’s wool sale* taking everything into consideration, were just about what might have been expected/’ said a prominent personage in tho wool circles yesterday, when asked his opinion of the prospects for the rest of the wool season. “Crossbreds were slightly above my expectationSj and there was more general competition than one was justified in anticipating. Merinos and half-breds. however, hardly came up to vendors’ expectations, but it must be remembered that they were forwarded only in small supply, and that there was hardly enougn of them to test the market. ‘‘With regard to the future of the one must be The facts that supplies of raw material are in a somewhat small compass, and that there may be a trade revival at Home may justify us in expecting a firming market. Advice of how Bradford intends to proceed may reach its buyers almost at once; in fact, I shouldn’t be surprised if it reached them this week.”
