SPARK FROM OPEN FIRE
CAUSED CAMBRIDGE TERRACE BLAZE SHOP AND DWELLING DAMAGED The City Fire Brigade was summoned to 34, Cambridge terrace, at 8.5 Q o’clock yesterday mprnipg, where qn outbreak of fire had been discovered >n a wood and iron two-stdryed bpijding, consisting of a fivo-roomed dwelling and shop. The premises were owned by John Swinsnn and Co., while tbe shop and dwelling were occupied by Joseph Henry tißdkin (bootmak er )i and Alfred G. Kennedy, respectively, Damage hy fire and water was occasioned to a room and the contents qn the ground floor at the rea rof the the ground flodr at the rear of the mainder of the premises were slightly damaged by heat and smoke. The building was insured with tho Standard Assurance Company, for £?50; and the contents and'" machinery of Ladkin’s shop with the Queensland Insurance Company for £360; and the contents of Kennedy’s premises with the Alliance Assurance Company for £l5O. The oauso of the conflagration is believed to be a spark from an open fireplace.
