MINER CRUSHED
SERIOUSLY INJURED. Per Press Association. GREYMOUTH, November 17. John Birch, aged 69 years, coal miner, met with a serious accident today in the middle brake section of the Liverpool State Colliery. Full trucks were being railed up a jig when a prop was pulled out by the weight, causing the rail to rise and crush Birch, who is now in a critical condition in hospital with internal injuries.
