AGITATION IN SAMOA
MEETING OF NATIVES CALLED PETITION TO MINISTER PROPOSED SLIGHT SUPPORT GIVEN By Telegraph —Pr4ss Assn.—Copyright. Australian and N -Z. Cablo Association. (Received November 16, 5.5 p.m.) SUVA, November 16. A political meeting was held in Apia on Friday at which 200 natives and Europeans were present. The elected members endeavoured to inihioe the natives to combine with the Europeans in a petition to the Minister. A letter was read from the Administrator, warning the promoters against interference with the natives. The Planters’ Association did not support the meeting, and many Europeans left it. The meeting decided to send delegates to New Zealand if support is ’forthcoming, and those present subscribed £3. Np recognised leader of the Sarntafi' race was ‘ present. The faipules did not attend. The agitation is alleged to be traceable to six disgruntled individuals.
