PUBLIC OPINION

NARROW CORNERS ,10 the Editor, “N.Z. Times.’’) Sir, —I have been pleased to notice that an endeavour has been recently made to draw the attention, through your columns, to the danger of accidents occurring at some of the narrow corners in the busiest part of the city. Could you spare me a small portion qf your appreciated paper, I should be greatly obliged. In reading of the town planning schemes I see that Te Aro Flat is to have attention, but have not noticed any reference to widening of the corner of Cuba street and Manners street, hut hope that tliiy problem will be one of the first to receive attention from t)ie town planners. Tho number of mo. tor-cars on the street increases every week, and the south western corner of Manners street and Cuba, street has become a dangerous spot to pedestrians and vehicles. If this corner were widened by about 12 or 15 feet it would be appreciated by a large majority of citizens. If I might suggest it, this is a matter which well might attract the attention of the Civic League. I sincerely hope that someone in an influential position will take up the cause of the travelling puhlie and endeavour to have some of the most dangerous corners widened,-—I am, etc,, “SAFETY.”
