At the golden jubilee celebrations of the Marist Brothers Order at Auckland the Provincial, the ?{ev. Brother Justin, was presented with a cheque for £1750. ■ Mr F. N. Bartram, M.P. for Grey Lynne, who intends visiting England was, last night, entertained "by the Labour .Party and presented with a wallet containing a cheque. * « * * The Minister for Public Works, Hon. K. S. Williams, after visiting the flooded districts on the West Coast, informed a deputation at Westport that he had instructed the engineer-in-chief to make an extensive examination of the Buller river with a view to preventing a similar occurrence.
