POSITION AT SYDNEY HIGH PRICE FOR POTATOES. liv Telegraph.—l’ro* .Wn.—Copy rigid. SIDNEY, November 13. Following toe shortage ot green vegetables, a serious scarcity of potatoes is threatened. Prime old season’s Tasmanian are commanding £25 a ton, the highest price for years. Last year the highest price was £2O. Experienced agents believe that the scarcity will last well into December. The prospect for the new season’s crop is not bright.
