On Thursday last a concert party made up from members of the K.A.0.8. (Buffalo Order) made a “cheer-up” visit to the Ewart Hospital and entertained sick brethren and other inmates. The following contributed items: —Brothers G. Keen, T. Willmot, Bannister, Ross-Williams, T. Bohlson, S. Lawlor, C. Moody. G. Beeves, J. Hammond, and Brokenshire. Brother Bohlson presided, and Brother G. Keen proved an able accompanist. The party delighted its audience, and encores were numerous. Following this kindly action five members of the order joined a concert party organised by Mrs Murphy (of 26, Adelaide road), and bn Friday paid a visit to the Home of Compassion, Island Bar. “The Buffs” (Brothers G. Lawlor; Boss-Williams. C. Moody, Boost. Bigby, and G. Keen, acoompanist) again, delighted the inmates of th* home. tenor trombone, with the following inscription on the bell: “Presented by Messrs Hnwkes and Son. London to Mr C. .T- . Brown, Wanganui Garrison Band, winner of tenor trombone championship. New Zealand and South Seas Exhibition Band Contest, Pnnedin. February. 102(1,” is on view in The Bristol Piano Co.'s windows.
