BACK TO THE BOARDS
BUTCHERS GO TO WORK LATEST FROM GISBORNE AND HAWKE’S BAY. Per Press Association. HASTINGS', November 13. It was learned from an authoritative source this morning that the butchers will be baok on the boards on Monday or Tuesday. The informant said that there were South Island men on the boards in Hawke’s Bay at present, and there were five hundred more ready to come if required. He said th'at the meat whioh has been killed by volunteer labour cannot be declared black, because there is no strike. The freezing worker* will be addressed tomorrow by Mr L. Glover. POSITION AT GISBORNE. GISBORNE, November 13. Two local freezing works commence killing operations on November 32pd, and the managements do not anticipate any trouble, as many of the men have been working through the winter and are unwilling to join the dispute. In the event of union labour not being available, volunteers will be taken on.
