SCOW PONO ASHORE
EFFORTS TO REFLOAT VESSEL Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, November 14. On Saturday the Northern Company’s auxiliary scow, Pono, dragged her anchors at Kiritea, near Coromandel, and drifted ashore. At the time of the accident the Pono was loading wool from the beach by means of her boats. This morning Captain Hammond, manager of the Northern Company left Auckland in the steamer Gael with men and tackle to refloat the stranded vessel. The extent of damage to the Rono i& not reported.
