THE HAURAKI PLAINS. SETTLERS LOSE HEAVILY IN STOCK. PEE PEESS ASSOCIATION. AUCKLAND, June 15. The Kcropehi correspondent of the '‘Herald” telegraphs as follows The floods on the Haurafci Plains are still high. Many farmers have lost heavily in' cattle, and onr man has lost two hundred pigs. Some of the plains are still under water, and the damage will bo considerably increased unless the river lowers within the next few days.
