EX-CONSTABLE’S CRIME
DEATH SENTENCE COMMUTED. By Telegraph—Press Assn. —Copyright (Received June 15, 11.15 p.m.) SYDNEY, June 15, The sentence on ex-Constable Worrell has been commuted to imprison meat for life. Worrell was found guilty of murdering his wife, and was sentenced to death. He made a statement that the deceased, during a fit of mad jealousy because he had married his first wife while on service in England, snatched a revolver and shot herself dead, and that fear prevented him from reporting the circumstances. Worrell’s first wife died shortly after reaching Australia,
