A PITIABLE CASE. "HANDICAP~TOO GREAT." In the case of Christina Saville, the woman who was found wandering about at Thorndon on Thursday night with her two young children, she was charged a<t the Magistrate's Court VRstardn.v with hni ine insufficient lawful visible means of support. The evidence showed that tho woman had been suffering from great mental distress. She came from New Plymouth about a month ago # in the hope of getting work, but with two young children—one nn infant in arms —tho handicap was too great. Mr Page, S.M., said he would not enter a conviction, but he ad\ - ised the accused to stay with the Salvation Army, which would look after her until she was able to get work. The, two children had been sent to- a receiving home.
