MYSTERIOUS " BERT "

UNTRACEABLE CO-RESPONDENT. A young man named Francis J. Dumphy sought the annulment of his marriage with Muriel Ida Dumphy at tho Hamilton Supreme Court. Petitioner said he was married at Te Kuiti in 1917, and a child was born in 1818. Petitioner went into camp, and "subsequently his wife gave birth to a child of winch he was not the father. Other evidence was called to show that the respondent had admitted that she had lived with a man whom she only knew as "Bert," and he was tho father of the second child. His Honour asked whore tho respondent was at present. •' " Petitioner's father_ said sho was kooping house for him. The judge remarked that tho case was singular and unsatisfactory. Ho did not suggest anything improper, but it was curious that "Bert" could not be traced. His Honour resorved his decision until to-day.
