MANAWATU SHOW
BIG INCREASE IN ENTRIES. Arrangements are now well in hand for the holding of the eighteenth annual Winter Show of the Manawatu and West Coast A. and P. Associa--tion. ' The entries, which have now closed, show a considerable increase over those received last year and also the year previous. The total number of entries received in the different branches is 2933, an increa.se of 179 over last year’s figures. The photographic entries show a marked increase. 168 being received in comparison with 33 last year. Forty more than last wear are reported in the. entries for the farmers’ butter and home industries section. Following are detailed figures—.'Field roots, farm, produce. potatoes, and vegetables, 439; /fruit. 247; honey, home industries, and farmers’ butter. 299; needlework. 106; dog trials. 35; horse events,. (53;. milk-testing. 18; displays (schools and districts), 10; soldiers’ exhibits.. 152; photography, 168;- poultry, 860; pigeons, 187; canaries, 53; total, 2933.
