HARRIER CLUBS

THE OLYMPICS’ RUN. The usual rim of the Olympic Club was held at Mr George Frost’s residence, Ohiro road. Brooklyn, last SaturdayThe runners, to the number of'2s, wore divided into two packs (slow and last). The paper was dispensed with on this occasion, and a run through was held as far as the Happy Valley beach and back, the fast pack (composed of Scratohard, Osborne, Wilkinson, R. Beaglehole. ; and, Tim Tracy) gave the "slows" about five minutes’ start and managed to overhaul them on the completion of three miles, ficratchard, Wilkinson, and K. Beaglehole, finished in this order, well, ahead of the others, with the ■ exception of Fraser, of the slow pack, who. ran splendidly consider, ing this was his first attempt this season. . The time (36 minutes) of the first three wae very good, for the distance from the top of Ohiro road to the,beach is about six miles. The run over, the host and hostess entertained the harriers and their friends to the number of forty. TJoa over, several musical items were • given by J. Beaglehole, Caldwell. Cooke, and W. J, Donaldson, and a very pleasant gathering came to a close about 7 p.m. with hearty applause for Mr and Mrs Frost and the other ladies present. The president (Mr Phllp) ’ said a few words of appreciation, end the ‘.boys” were unanimous that Mr George Frost was a good sport. Mr Frost suitably replied, and said he always did what be could to encourage good, clean, healthy sport.

Next Saturday the run is from Seatouii.
