MINISTER'S NORTHERN TOUR. PEB PRESS ASSOCIATION. WAIHI, June 11. Tho Hon. J . G. Chutes, Minister for Public Works, passed through Waihi this morning, eu route to Auckland. He was waited on by the members of the Borough Council, when tbo requiremenite of the district were placed before him. The Minister, in reply, pointed out- that there was an acute shortage in steel aud other building materials, but with the increased shipping facilities; the position would tic relieved. Afterwards the Minster left for Thames, and will meet local bodies at other places cn route.
