THE HOUSING ACT
FACETS IN MEASURE. In a circular letter received by llio Makara County. Council yesterday, the Pahiatua County Council asked support of the following resolution “That the attention of the Prime Minister he drawn to the unsatisfactory wording of the Housing Act, 1910, part 5, section 51, in that it did not make provision for the purchase of laud to erect dwellings or of buildings already erected, and that ho be asked to have the Act amended and altered in that direction.'’ The council decided to support the resolution in so far as that legislation should be provided to enable the council to purchase land. Tt could not agree to the clause relating to the purchase of dwellings already erected.
