FORTNIGHTLY COUNCIL MEETING. MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS.
The ordinary fortnightly mooting of the City Council took place last evening. There wore present: The Mayor, Mr J. p. J.uke. and councillors H. H. Bennett, XI. G. A. Barn. J. Burns. C. H. Chapman, J. M. Dale, T. Forsyth, G. Frost, J. Glover, J. Henderson, J. Hutchison, M. Luckio, L. McKenzie. J. O. Shorland, W. J. Thompson, and R. A. Wright. ; Provision is to be made on the estimates for the current year for the construction of a culvert firom Apu orescent, Lyall Bay, to the sea. the estimated cost of the work being .£3OO. .The request of the Miramar Borough Council that the new oar mileage charge should not come into force until June 14th, was declined. SUBDIVISION. Subdivisions of property were granted as follow’Evans Bay (Weller); Upper ■Wi/tis streelt (Brandon, Uislop and Brandon); Rodrigo road (A. M. Miller); Farm road, Northland (Williamson); Coutts /nnd Ross streets (Bothune and Co.); Hamilton Klaxori (Fell, Putnam and McEldowncy); Waikato street (Summerhayes). Approved subject to conditions stipulatedt by the city lemgineor—Queen's tlrivo (Hargreaves); The Parade and Tleef street (J. Itcid); Hatattai and Eakau roads (Hataitai Land Company); Willis and Whitaker streets (DrFaulke); Riddiford street .(Smith); Jefferson street (Waters). ..... The following proposed subdivisions were not approvedOhiro road (Allen); Kotinga street (Wylie). TREE-PLANTING. The dircstor of reserves (Mr J. G. Mackenzie) reported that he had had a number of applications for trees and shrubs for the 1920 planting season. As tho corporation had a big planting programme outlined, he recommended that no trees be given away except for public purpose. Trees nnd shrubs would be required for tho following works this winter: —Adelaide Park; Otafci Milk Station grounds; Wadestown Electors' Association (streets and banks':; Ketburn Beautifying Society; Hataitai Electors’ Association (streets and banks); Tfarori Park; Onslow Reserves; Kilhirnie Recreation Ground (hedges) Kilbirnie plantation; Mein street croquet courts (shelter break); Palliser road (upper bank); Lindrom terrace (renew plantation); Tho Rigi (western bank); Northland Recreation Ground; Steus, Henry street, KSlMrnie, upper banks, Central Park; Government Reserve, Botanical Gardens; Hataitai tunnel (eastern entrance); Town Bolt, opposite Duppa street Park- Ngaio Rost Park (bank of crock!; Williams’s Park. Day’s Bay (hills and beoeb); Hataitai Best Park. Evans Boy road: Queen’s Park (banks near Park street); Clyde street. Island Bay; Roseneath plantation ; Orchard street, Wadostown; Town Hall site, Hataitai. Tho report was adopted.
