The dance hell at Te Horo on Wednesday night proved most enjoyable, although tho attendance was not so large ns desired. The floor was in fine order, supper was fully appreciated, Mr R. Nicholson supplied first-class dance music, chile Mr Frank Best was M.C. The energetic and capable secretaries' were Misses A Hagan and E. Morgan. At the lust Hutt County Council meeting the acting-chairman (Couicillor M W. Welch) announced that in future no deputation would be heard unless the council received three days’ notice. The Foxton Fire Brigade has decided to pay 10s to tho taxi first arriving at the fire station and hauling tho engine Co an outbreak of fire. For riotous behaviour in a public place a man named W. Horne was fined £3 at Foxton on Tuesday. Miss Barker, principal of the Ngatawa Girls' School, Martou, who died, after collapsing in n bathroom at Marten, recently purchased a seaside section of land at Otnki, intended to take up icsidence here. Miss Barker was among recent visitors horo. The death has occurred at Foxton of Miss Stella Edlin. daughter of Mrs Bdlin. Deceased had been ill for somo months, due in the first place to an attack' of influenza-
The wedding took place at Levin last week of Miss Ruth Read, third daughter of Mr Charles Read, of Levin, and Mr Prank Money, K>f fMqrrJnsville. The bride was dressed in a blue tailored costume, and attended by Miss Nellie Read, sister, n» bridesmaid. Mr and Mrs Money will reside at Morrinsrille.
