The Karori left Lyttelton on Tuesday morning for Sydney. She will subsequently go to Newcastle to load - coal for New Zealand. . The coastal steamer Manaroa, which has been purchased for the inter-island trade, was to go up to Dunedin on Wednesday fromAl’ort Chalmers to load for Lyttelton. She will afterwards steam to Westport to bunker before proceeding to Suva, her future home port. The Kurow was expected to leave Kaipnra yesterday with a full cargo of timber for Melbourne.
The barqueutme Amy Turner, having discharged a cargo of case oil at Bluff, sailed from the southern port on Saturday afternoon, in ballast, for Newcastle. She will load coal at Newcastle for a South American port. Mr E. J. Appleyard, fourth officer of the Waihora, signed off the ship’s articles yesterday. (Mr G- Dalling and Mr R. S. Rutherford joined the Waihora yesterday as second and fourth engineers, respectively, in place of Mr 0. R. Cozens and Mr A. Robbie. , The Flora, en route from Oamaru. left Timaru last night for Wellington, where she is due to-morrow morning. An endeavour will be made to despatch the vessel to-morrow for > Greymouth with general cargo. The To Anau ia to leave Auckland tomorrow afternoon for Wellington direct. The vessel will load general cargo here on Tuesday for Bluff. Tho Komata, which arrived at Wellington yesterday from Westport, is to sail on the return trip on Monday, taking passengers. The Tinian Company advise that the departure of the Paloona from Wellington for Melbourne direct has been postponed till noon to-day. A fireman on tho vessel was found to be suffering from a mild attack of influenza yesterday, and was removed to tho hospital. The Paloona was then thoroughly fumigated. THE WAIWERA. The Shaw, Savill and AJbion Company advise that the Waiwera is to leave Wellington on Thursday next for Lyttelton. She will return to Wellington to complete Homeward loading, and will leave hero for London, via Panama. THE PORT NICHOLSON. The C. and D. Line steamer Port Nicholson is now fixed to leave Wellington at daybreak to-morrow for London, via Panama. SCHWARZENFELS DUE TO-DAY. Murray, Roberts and Co. advise that the steamer Schwarzenfels is expected to arrive at Wellington this afternoon from Safaga, via Auckland. The vessel will berth at tho King’s wharf to discharge 2000 tons of basic phosphate, and is to -sail next Thursday for Newcastle. Captain James is m command of the Schwarzenfels. ORA RI TO LOAD. The New Zealand Shipping Company advise that the liner Orari was delayed in loading at Whakatane yesterday by bad weather. Tho vessel is to leave there on Sunday for Tokomaru Bay, Gisborne, and Wellington. She is expected .to arrive at Wellington on June 22nd, and ia to sail from here about the 26th for London, via Panama. THE NIKAU. The Anchor Co.’s steamer Nikau will not leave Nelson until this evening for Wellington, where she is due to-morrow morning. The vessel will sail from Wellington at 2 p.m. to-morrow, as usual, for Nelson.

PAPAROA IN POET. From Liverpool, via Panama and Auckland, the liner Paparoa arrived at Wellington at 12.40 p.m. yesterday and berthed at tho King’s wharf to put out part cargo. The vessel is to sail at noon ou Wednesday for Lyttelton and Dunedin to complete discharge. MOERAKI FOB SYDNEY. The Union Co. advise that tho depar ture of the Moeraki from Wellington lor Sydney and Hobart has been postponed til] 3 p.m. to-day. The Shaw, Savill and Albion liner Zealandic, which left Wellington yesterday for Lyttelton, Dunedin, and Bluff, is due back at Wellington on the 30th inst. to complete Homeward loading. The vessel is expected to sail from Wellington on July 6th for London via Panama. THE POET NAPIER. The C. and D. Line have received cable advice that the steamer Port Napier arrived at London on June Bth from Wellington. The vessel left here on April 18th. • WESTRALIA FROM MELBOURNE'. At 7.35 o’clock last evening the Hud-dart-Parker steamer Westralia arrived in the stream at Wellington from Melbourne direct. Tho vessel will berth it 8 o’clock this morning at No. 14, north, Jervois quay, to disembark passengers and discharge part cargo. The Westralia is timed to leave Wellington at 5 p.m. to-morrow for Lyttelton, Dunedin, Bluff, and Melbourne. MAKER A’S PASSENGERS. The E.M.S. The vessel will sail from Wellington, on Monday evening for Lyttelton and Dunedin. ARGYLLSHIRE TO LOAD. The New Zealand Shipping Company will load the liner Argyllshire at New Zealand ports for London. The vessel is to leave Sydney on tho 26th ins't. for Auckland, where she is due on the 30th. She will load at Auckland, Whakatane, Tokoirtaru Bay, and Wellington. The Argyllshire is due at Wellington on July Uth and is to sail from here on the 16th for London via Panama. the New Zealand and African Company will book passengers for London by the Argyllshire. ' -NEW SHAW-SAVILL BOAT. The ‘twin-screw steamier Maimoa, to the order of the Shaw, Savill and Albion Company, was launched from the Jarrow yard of Messrs Palmers > Stupbuilding and Iron -Company, Limited, .on March 22nd. The vessel s dimensions are: Length 477 ft 7in, breadth, moulded 62ft 9in, depth moulded 34ft 4in to upper deck, oho ia of the twodeck type, with shelter dock and bridge and forecastle above the shelter deck. Accommodation is provided in a stool house on tho bridge dock forward for the saloon, officers, stewards, etc., the captain, being in a steal house on bridge over saloon; with deckhouse for whooii house, chart room, and Marconi-room ; on tho navigating bridge. The engineers ore accommodated in the inside, (houses , abreast engine and boiler casing, with alleyway between. The crew are herth- . ed in the forecastle. Steam steering gear of Wilson-Pirrie typo is fitted in ’ house aft, controlled by telemotor from bridge. The vessel is insulated in tho ’ holds, and lower ’tween decks, excepting Nos. 3 and 6 holds, for the carriage of chilled' and frozen „ meat, the refrigerating machinery being situated on port side of engine room.
