APPLICATIONS TAPERING OFF.

This week's meeting of the ■Wellington District Repatriation Board was one of the smallest as far as applications for assistance were concerned that has ever been held. There wore thirty requests for furniture loans, ancl all were granted. Business loans were approved in eight out of ten "cases. One man applied for transportation fees . to England, but his request was declined. Training allowances, to enable the applicants to enter upon a course of study at the technical or commercial colleges, were approved in two cases. _ Other fees were allowed to one man, while a second application was declined. Four men were granted subsidised wages.
