WHY BLANKETS ARE SCARCE

Many people have asked yrhy blankets should bo so scarce this winter, seeing that millions of pounds of wool are produced every year in Now Zealand, and that wo have several large woollen miUs in tho Dominion. Tho simple fact is that tho local manufactories are quite unable to cope with tho Dominion's requirements in- woollen goods; and tbe shipping shortage has prevented oversea mills irom sending us adequate supplies. Tho situation is one that emphasises tho need for tho extension of manufacturing enterprise in New -Zealand. in response to this need, a new' woollen company has been formed —The AVanganui Woollen Mills. Ltd. It,is proposed to build an extensive modem mill at Wanganui, which offers a very advantageous site for such an enterprise. Ibo capital of the company will bo JLCIO,000. ... Tho existing woollen mills ot Uio Dominion are flourishing financially, their products arc widely and favourably known. There is undoubtedly an openiug for the mill now proposed. Prospectus of The Wanganui Woollen Mills, Ltd., together with. Application Form', can bo obtained from tue local brokers, Messrs Irwin and George, 37, Panama street:. Wellington, or from the interim secretary. Mr E. M. Silk. [■Published by Arrangement.]
