THE PROPOSED EXHIBITION. NO ASSISTANCE FROM GOVERNMENT. PER PRESS ASSOCIATION. CHRISTCHURCH, Juno 0. At a mooting of the committee of tho proposed industrial exhibition, a communication was received from tho Prime Minister stating that the Government, after giving full consideration to tho proposal, could tako no action at present in the matter of assisting tho exhibition. It was decided to send copies of the Prime Minister’s letter to the committees in the other centres, asking if they were in favour of meeting tho Christchurch delegates in Wellington to consider the Government’s attitude and approach the Government in tho matter.
