CHURCH ANNIVERSARY
CONSTABLE STREET CONGREGA- • TIONAL. In connection with tho twenty-second anniversary of tho Constable street Congregational Church, a conversazione was hold in the schoolroom, tho Rev. W. A. Evans presiding over a large attendance. The rfiport of the past year’s work, presented by the secretary, showed very great improvements in all departments of the church, which was in a better condition financially and statistically, aa well as spiritually, than it had ever been at any previous time during its history To a certain extent this was due to man new families having become connected with the church, and to the return <. soldier members from active service Through the beneficence of the Into Mr M. A. Williams the church was now free of debt. In the course of congratulatory speeches the Revs. J. Reed Glasson and A. E.. Hunt paid glowing tributes to the work of the pastor, who. in spite of indifforeni health.* had afioommodated himself to the circumstances, and had carried out his duties splendidly.. In expressing thanks, the Rev. W. A. Evans made reference to the sympathy which hud been shown the people of th"e church by many friends, and mentioned that much of the success obtained nas attributable to that feeling of good fellowship which existed among members and friends-
