LAST NIGHT’S MEETING. NETTING PROPOSAL OPPOSED. A meeting of the Wellington Acclima. tisation Society was held Inst night. Mi B. J. Wiffin presiding. The members also present were Messrs J. Powell, C. H. Whitehead, A G. Nathan. C. H. Bould, S. Coombe J. S. Fleming, J. Brassett, and V. Whitley. -letter received from the Internal Affairs Department stated that it had no doubt that tho society s order for 250,000 rainbow trout ova would ho duly C °A 'from Mr W. G. Talbot, strong. lv opposing tho proposal for netting nsn in Wakarapa Lake, brought by Mr Whatman before tho society at its previous meeting, was referred to the fish committee for consideration and report Several members expressed agreement with Mr Talbot’s reuest. . Commander Barnsdale, of the training shin Amokura, wrote forwarding a sketch map of Dusky Sound, showing Duck Cove Resolution Island, at tho head ot which ho had seen three or four white cranes on tho occasion of the recent visit of tho vessel to tho sound.
