It i was more likely De V alera would consult Archbishop Manmx at Ban Francisco. Probably Archbishop Mannix would be authorised to conduct a loan campaign in Australia. The “Now'York Times” Chicago correspondent says that Messrs De V'alera and Walsh have finished. a tentative deaft of -a plank they vih -)'h the Committee on Resolutions to l incorporate in the Republican platform. The, •understanding among the leaders is that in- the event of the committee refusing to adopt the draft they will ask that a plank expressing sympathy with the Irish people be incorporated.
