NAPIER TO GISBORNE

MINISTER’S ROUGH JOURNEY. PKB PRESS ASROCTATTOV. GISBORNE, Juno 8. The Hon. J; G. Coates, Minister for Public Works, arrived at Gisborne this morning, having travelled overland from Napier. Tho Minister describes the journey, which was made during rain, as one of the roughest he has experienced. There were numerous slips and trees across the road, which the Minister, with a long-hand-led shovel, assisted in clearing. Mr Coates was accorded a civic reception this morning, 01101* which he received deputations from various ports of the district. He continues lus overland journey to Opotiki to-morrow.
