PRESS AND PRESBYTERY
MOTION FOR EXCLUSION. FAILS TO FINtTsECONDER, A resolution to exclude the Press from future meetings of the Wellington Presbytery was moved last night by tho Rev. A. Bruce • Todd. He brought forward the resolution, stated the mover, because tbe Press had for the most part confined its reports of previous meetings to what he might call tho sensational side of tho Presbytery, and had not reported tho general business. He suggested that it would he hotter to supply a report of tho proceedings to the newspapers. Tho motion lapsed for want of a seconder. The Rov: J. H. McKenzie contended that such' a resolution would be entirely opposed to the practice of the Presbytery. Till tho minutes had been road, ho added, the meetings of the Presbytery must always bo. open to the public; but after they had been read each Presbytery could decide for itself.
