GOAL SUPPLY

POSITION TO BE EASED COMMITTEE’S ALLOCATION. The acute shortage of coal in the city and country districts of Wellington should be considerably relieved by the allocations made yesterday by tho Wellington Coal Trade Committee. These are as follow; —Ex s.s. Kamona, 100 tons to tho city; ex s.s. Kittawa, 150 tons to tho city, 150 tons to the country; ex s.s. Kaiapoi, 1600 tons to the city, 000 to the country. The total amount allotted to the city is, therefore, 1850 tone, to the country 750, out of totals available of 2600 tons. In addition to the allotments enumerated above, tho s.s. Komata is duo as usual from Westport, and the Kokiri from Greymouth, both steamers carrying coal for domestic and industrial purposes. At tho same time, the public is asked to bear in mind that all dealers have a very largo number of orders in arrear, and, consequently, some delay must be expected before, the orders can be delivered or fresh orders given attention. Provision has been made from tbe country quota for a reserve stock to meet proved cases of sickness, when ordinary supplies are not available. The distribution of this reserve will be at tho jpidcr of tho Mayor or chairman of the Town Board, as tho case may be.
