BURIAL EXPENSES
MEMBERS OF THE N.Z.EF. FUNERAL AT STATE’S EXPENSE. An additional clause has been added to tho regulations governing tho burial expenses of members of tho N.Z.E.F., and is published in the latest instructions from General Defence Headquarters. The order announces that /all expoldiora of the N.Z.E.E 1 . who die w/thjn twelve months of discharge from the forces, and whose death is certified by medical authority to have been caused hy disabilities contracted or sq aggravated in the service as to cause death, will bo lilovidod with a funeral at State expense. This applies to oases in which the deceased has been under medical treatment authorised by an officer of tho N.Z.M.C.
Applications for the allowance must to made by tlio next-of-kin. The provision may also bo extended to eases not under treatment at tlic time, of 'death, but in which indigence is proved without reference to the, length of time since discharge took effect.
