EVIDENCE, OF NEGLIGENT DRIVING:': CAUSE OF GRIFFIN'S DEATH. FEB TRESS ASSOCIATION. CHRIS'i'OIiURCH, June 4.Tho inquest was continued to-day before '*tho coroner, Mr McCarthy. S.M., coucerninpi the death" of William Arthur. Griiilin, who was killed on tho night of ilay 22nd as the result of a collision botv.eii a' motor-ear he waa riding in and a tramcar. After hearing the ovidencc tho coroner recorded a verdict that Moiorman Smauli was 'sober and tho tramcar at. the tune of tho accident was travelling at a speed of abouib rive miles an hour. The motor-car was being driven after dark at a last, pace though it waa impossible now to estimate tho rato of speed. The ovidencc did not discloso any negligence on the part of tho motorraan. The driving by Robert Bruce Forsyth w-aa negligent in -three particulars, namely: (a> Forsyth was under, the influence of liquor; (b) the moworcar was being driven at a fast pace after dark; (c) Forsyth either failed or was unable to keep a proper lookout. Such negligent driving was the solo causu of the death of deceased.
