AIDE TING OF COMMITTEE. Tho Johnsonvfllo Committee met this week. Air- P. T. O’Neiil, chairman, presiding. Every member of 'he committee was present, and considerable,.- routine business was transacted. - Disappointment was expressed at the action of the Makara County Council relative to their ■ action regarding the swimming pond. It was resolved to prepare u petition, to bo canvassed among the ratepayers, concerning the same. . The works committee reported that sundry repairs and .improvements were urgent.- The matter, was-left iu the hands . of the new' works committee- It was agreed to spend £5 upon necessary repairs av the Nowland school. Mr F. T. . O’Neill, Mr.J. C. Moore arid the. Rev N. Turner wtoc appointed, as.works coni- ' mitteo for the ensuing year. 1 Strong exception' was taken to the fact that the whole of the money raised was to bo devoted to ihe recreation reserve, the same being gathered by means of a carnival in which the school children had taken an active part in canvassing. It was urged that part of the project was in aid of the swimming pond scheme, and the secretary- Was instructed to 'write ;'■ to the Town Board arid’ ehaii ; than of. the' sports committee entering a protest. On the . motion of Alessrs Roclda and Kenny, Air F. T. O’Neill and the Eev. N. Turner wore appointed representatives to the School Committees’ Association. Accounts to the amount if £2B were passed for payment.
