A series of determined attacks ou police barracks was - made in Ireland yesterday. Two hundred men attacked tho Clara barracks in King’s County with lilies and bombs for two hours, shattering the walls. The police refused several demands for surrender and eventually repulsed the raiders, who,® iff addition to tho usual impediments on the roads and the cutting of' 'ielcphone wires, tore up the railway in a number of places. Haiders at Fonit, a few miles from Tralee, in County Kerry, penetrated two houses adjoining the barracks and scattered petrol and " ignited buildings. They then opened tire, this lasting two hours. Bluejackets on a destroyer in Tralee Bay, seeing the flames, landed and rescued the police: Two of the defenders wore wounded. A sensational affair is reported to have taken place at King’s Ipn, Henrietta street, Dublin. About fifty Sinn Reiners surprised twenty-five soldiers who were guarding the inn and deprived them of their arms and ammunition and two machine-guns. The sentry was surprised to got tho word of command ‘‘Hands Up,” and promptly obeyed. He was deprived pf his rifle, and the Sinn Feiners then darted to tho guard-room and overpowered the soldiers, covering the twentyfour with revolvers. Tho party escaped in motor-cars, after telling ’ the soldiers to -remain where they were for at least ten minutes or be shot. As they left the raiders were loudly cheered by a crowd which had assembled outside tho inn. Police and soldiers aro now scouring Dublin in search of the raiders, but so far without result. Raiders attacked the Queenstown Naval Station, igniting and destroying a portion of the buildings. ' Other raiders destroyed five coastguard stations on the South Coast. Defence of these stations is difficult owing to their isolated positions. It is believed in some quarters that the attacks on the stations are connected with Sinn Fein plans to land war material. AN INCIDENT AT CORK. (Received Juno 3, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, June 2. A party of Sinn Feiners raided a large garage at Cork, seized a number of motor-ears, blindfolding the garage mechanics, and keeping in a field throughout the night, while the Sinn Feiners attacked tho police barracks. Tho Blarney police resisted for two hours, until a flying column of soldiers arrived, and put tho Sinn Feiners to flight.
