ELECTION PETITION
OVER-RULED BY CHRISTCHURCH MAGISTRATE. PER PRESS ASSOCIATION. CHRISTCHURCH, Juno 2. A reserved judgment has been delivered by Mr S. E. McCarthy, S.M., in the petition against the return of Messrs Boag and Storry as members of the Lyttelton Harbour Board. Tho petition alleged certain irregularities in' respect of the nomination deposit. Tho magistrate overruled the petition, and declared the two candidates duly elected. Ho made no order for costs, remarking that tho attitude of the returning officer and his assistants before tho closing of nominations were calculated to create tho impression that neither of the candidates named had lodged a deposit.
