MEETING OF EXECUTIVE DOMINION AND LOCAL ACTIVITIES. . Colonel Roberts presided :.t the monthly meeting of • the Wellington Navy League, held in the league's rooms, Ballance street, yesterday., af-. tcrnoon. Those present included Captain Chudley, Messrs lan Duncan, Wiren, Keesing, and Darrook (lion, secretary), Mosdamos Earlo, Darling, Bradney-Williams, C. Richardson, and Miss Laurensen EX-NAVAL MEN.

■■-: Tho secretary read the report for tho month. Tho league had been busy with tho matters in connection with tho Prince of Wales's visit. Members of the ladies' auxiliary and girls' branch had looked after the refreshments for about 13,000 children, and tho ladies had assisted at the Pipitea Club for sailors of tho Renown, and the girls' ■ branch had given o very successful dance which was attended by H.R.H. the Prince of Wales and j his staff officers of the Renown: Mr Foster had thanked tho ladies for. their work in connection with the children. The) league expressed sympathy with | Mrs Hosking on .the sudden death ofi her son-in-law. The league had suffered the loss of three members;" - * Br | Fyife, Mr Birch, of Marton, and Mr. ; O. B. Smith. Mr Smith had been connected with the league since his arrival in Nt;w Zealand, und hdi worked hard for its benefit. Two life members,©Mr C. Finch and Mr R. Cook, had 'been elected. Mr Palmer had agreed to arrange for the Wellington wreath to be placed at the Nelson column in, London on Trafalgar Day. The Wellington branch had participated in tho cable sent by the Christchurch branch .congratulating: Admiral Jellicoe on his appointment as Governor-Gene-ral of New Zealand. Arrangements Were being made for, the quarterly meeting of tho league and men of the Motor Patrol and R.N.R. were to bo' invited. The Town Hall had been booked for Trafalgar Day, and it wai, hopedtthat Admiral Lord Jellicoe would be present. lb was thought advisable to make a small charge, which should go to the Wellington Playgrounds Fund, in which the leazue-was muchinterested. It had been arranged togive four prizes at *he -Wellington- 1 Competitions to boys and .girls under 16 for a recitation of "Admirals All.". Mr Darrbch explamed..Aha.t this,.mat-ter..-had had to be ar-ranged .quickly, a-nd ho asked for confirmation of his action. The executive agreed. Mrs Darling, on behalf oftheiadies'auxiliary, reported for the month that tho auxiliary had taken part in all activities of the league in connection with the visit of the Prince of AVales. Mrs Hosking (president) had been granted leave ot absence, and Airs Tripp appointed a vice-president and acting-president during Mrs Hosking's absence. Mrs Montgomerio and. Mrs Murray-Gardner had "been appoint. od to vacancies on the committee. Letters of thanks had been received,„ior goods sent Home. ... ~
