(From Oiir Own Correspondent) MASTERTON, May 20. At tho annual meeting of the Masterton branch of the A'evv Zealand Labour party last night, the following officers woro elected: —President, Mr )J. Chapman;' vice-president, MrVV. Conly; secretary, Mr J. Donn; executive committee, Messrs Bradcr, McLeod, Threadwell, Toomath, and Turnbull;
Tho residents of Te Ore Ore entertained Mr and Mrs G. A. Jones at n farewell social. On behalf of. the settlers, Mr J. Morri^,presented Mr Jones with a purse of ridtesj aiid Mrs Jones with a, : tririTj'eT-Tiox~aiiu' mirror. Moko Moka, ori behalf "of the' Maori residents, presented Mr and Mrs Jonos with ft Maori mat. The parents of the scholars presented Mr Jones with an illuminated address. Tho residents of Lansdowno are moving in tho -direction of amalgamation with the borough of. Maatorton.
