THE HORRORS OF PEACE
To the Editor "N.Z. Times.”) dir,—ln your issue of Monday last Mr Hornsby has a good deal to say about the horrors of war lately endured by France, Belgium, and other countries, which, of course, we all 'deplore, and which the single men of New Zealand helped to stop, but what has Mr Hornsby got to say about the horrors -of peace in New Zealand at . the present time, where men do not "die for freedom and the honour ,of r women?” , What about exploitation; what about' sweating, seduction. and' prostitution of women; what about New Zealand forced marriages (where women are bound for life to men who have proved themselves to be absolute blackguards); what about the protection of English and New Zealand women under our present "bigamy” laws? Does Mr Hornsby realise that women in New Zealand can be legally married at the ago of’ twelve years, and has ho ever done anything to try and alter this? Come, Mr Hornsby,, get off jo nr high faintin' 'korse, and let ns have something about the horrors of peace in New Zealand at the present time.
