MILITARY DEFAULTER SENTENCED

CHRISTCHURCH, May 27. A district court-martial which sat in Christchurch has sentenced John Courtenay, a baker, of Tiraaru," to 90 days’ detention for failing to concentrate with the reinforcement drafts on May 20th, 1918. Courtenay gave himself up to tho military authorities voluntarily, and pleaded guilty to the charge.
