The Wairarapa Amateur Atnletio dub made a profit of £9 3s 6d over its Bocial and dance this week. Mrs Flanagan, mho has resigned her position as secretary of the W.CT.U., after eight years' service, has been presented by the members with a handsome gold brooch.
Bombardier L. .Wilton and Privates Robert Marney and K. MoLachlan were entertained by the settlers of Rangitumau at a "welcome home social and presented wtih a well-filled purse of notes each. Mr A. B. Wood, on behalf of Masterton friends, presented Bombardier L. Wilton with a gold watch. i ■
Messrs D. Caselberg, 1). Threadwell, R. Krahagen, J. Toomath, ■'!'. Grundy, and H. S. Sinclair have been nominated for the three vacant seats on the Trust Lands Trust. Mr D. Lett has sold his farm of 91 acres at Rangitumau to Mr iT. Heapy, of Greytown.
