The War Office reportsi—Our troops, on the 18th, in conjunction with the river flotilla, advanced : along the left bank of the Dwina to south of Tulgas, taking 21 prisoners. It is believed that the flotilla sank a Bolshevik gunboat. The Russian cavalry distinguished themselves in this operation. A strong patrol of Russians, on the 19th, broke through the enemy's outpost line on the yaga River, killing.2o and taking 71 prisoners. '-, " ' '; There were several determined patrol encounters on the Murmansk front on the 19th. Near the railway north of Lake Onega, our troops drove back patrols and located the enemy's main defence line. The Bolsheviks, in consequence of their recent defeats, have removed their commander, and appointed, presumably, an abler successor.'

. COPENHAGEN, May 20. Lettish troops have occupied Riga. They shot the majority of the Bolshevik Commissioners.
Esthonians, supported by Russians and Germans, are rapidly advancing between; Narva and havereached the lower part of the'Luga River, 120 miles west of Petrograd. They captured 25,000 prisoners and three armoured trains, and the enemy is in disorderly flight.
GREAT BATTLE PROCEEDING AT KIE'FF.
GENEVA, May 21.. A great battle is'proceeding for Kieff between the Bolsheviks, Gregorieffs, and Ukrainians. Trotsky is personally leading the Bolsheviks, who have been largely reinforced. Lenin is also present. ;!
