COAL SHORTAGE
REDUCES GAS PRESSURE AT
AUCKLAND,

AUCKLAND, May 22,
Owing to the depleted gas supplies as a result of the shortage of coal, the pressure at the gas mains was considerably reduced to-night. In anticipation of a complete stoppage of supplies, hurricane lamps were being used at the Auckland railway station.
