POTATO EMBARGO
PRICE ALREADY RISING. As a sidelight bn the lifting of the embargo on the export of potatoes from New Zealand, a business man men-, tinned yesterday that,, ho was in the office of a merchant when -a olettcr (written before the lifting of the-em-bargo) arrived, and quoted potatoes at £6 10s per ton. Jus-t then a telegram came quoting £7 2s fid as the revised figure, showing that between the sending and the receipt of the letter there had been a rise of 12s fid.
