THOMAS MOORE ANNIVERSARY

A large number of entries has been received for the competitions m connection with the Thomas Moore annual festival. Nine choirs will compete, and there will be numerous solo and elocutionary items. The competitions will commence at 10 o'olock next Saturday morning, and the finals will be decided in the evening. Mr Frank J. Oakes will adjudicate on the musical items, and Mr B. B. L. Reade will act as supervhior. The Moore concert on Wednesday, May 28th, promises to be excellent. A feature is being made of concerted singing, for which the works of Moore are admirably suited.
